One important condition for growth of the sector is the availability of enough quality rooms to accommodate the expected growth of visitors to Curaçao. Presently the island offers almost 3,300 hotel rooms provided by approximately 110 different commercial establishments. In terms of quality of accommodation there are 1,130 first class hotel rooms, 1,700 mid priced, budget, small hotel and dive resort rooms and around 500 apartment and bungalow units. The overall objective is to reach a target of 5,000 rooms within the medium term. These rooms will be constructed by the private sector.
